Remembering Dio, Donna, & Chris

Ronnie James Dio, Donna Summer, Chris Cornell

The third week of May in recent years has been a tough one in the music world, as this week we remember three music legends who left us way too soon.

Ronnie James Dio, heavy metal singer known his work with Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and his own band Dio, passed away 12 years ago on May 16, 2010. Two years ago DJ Jessica broadcasted the Remembering Dio special, which you can check out here.

Donna Summer, queen of disco, passed away 10 years ago on May 17, 2012. This Saturday DJ Bryan will be spotlighting her music on 20Hitz in honor of her.

Chris Cornell, the iconic Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman who ex-wife and manager Susan Silver called the "voice of a generation", passed away five years ago on May 18, 2017. Since his death, DJ Jessica's deep dive into his music catalogue has been well documented on The Book Club, particularly on a June 2019 three-hour special called The Soundgarden Club, which you can check out here.

RIP to all these amazing artists. You are all so, so missed.
